The hawthorn is the tree of the Goddess, in Her appearance as the Queen of May (or Summer Queen). The oak is male, and the embodiment of the Oak King (or Summer King). On a delightfully warm Beltane day, I snapped this photograph of the Lord and Lady entwined in the sun. Symbolic enough for your Pagan Wedding card? I think. :
