This is a digitally enhanced print derived from an antique birds and roses pattern design by William Morris. William Morris was a Victorian era poet, novelist, textile designer and an important figure of the British Arts and Crafts Movement. His designs had a medieval-inspired aesthetic and respect for hand-craftsmanship and traditional textile arts. He was the founding figure of Morris & Co., and Kelmscott Press. He was friends to many Pre-Raphaelite artists such as Edward Burne-Jones and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The border is derived from the antique Victorian era woodcut leaf from The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer by Kelmscott Press with William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones.
